In choosing a greeting card for someone, the most important thing you might focus on is the words written on and inside the card. The image and the picture printed on the card is also important, but it becomes secondary the moment you find the most appropriate and suitable words reflecting your true emotions and feelings for the receiver of the greeting card.
Along with many types of greeting messages written inside the card, funny quotes or sayings are extremely popular as well. There is also ample space inside the card to write in your own funny remark or a joke in order to bring a smile or a laugh on the recipients face.
It is really important to keep the humour tasteful and make sure it brings a heartfelt smile on the recipients face and not hurt or offend him/her in any way. You can crack a joke regarding the age of your friend or any other mutual college joke you used to share in the past so as to make him/her laugh with reference to the old college times.
Joke regarding the age can be really interesting especially if it is the birthday of a girl. If a teenage girl is turning 20, you can add a remark saying “how many candles on the cake?” to add a little humour to the card. If the birthday girl is turning 40, you can add a comment saying, “Oh my, so many candles on such a little cake” to give her a good and delightful laugh. You can also joke about age in the following manner, “wisdom comes with age, no wonder, you are the wisest person I know on earth”. Such witty and light remarks are sure to bring a smile on the recipients face and also make their day cheerful and even more exciting.
Another funny card idea is to add a little sarcasm in the greeting card. If it is your friend’s birthday, and you know of something she/he really wanted but didn’t have the money to buy, you can always joke about it with him/her by making that particular thing on a card board and give it to your friend along with some funny comment. For example, if your friend wanted to buy a guitar, you can make a guitar on a card or on a paper and give it to him/her and add a funny remark on it to make him/her laugh.
Apart from writing in your own funny remarks, various types of funny cards are also available in the market as well. However, you might need to make a little extra effort in choosing a funny card from the store so as to make sure it fits and suits the mood and taste of the recipient. You can also write about some mutual joke or a punch line you use in your daily life. Furthermore, you can also add or draw pictures to make the card funny and humorous.
