Making healthy food choices doesn't come naturally. As a matter of fact anywhere you look you will find ads and commercials extolling the advantages of eating unhealthy. That's the American lifestyle, live, work and eat as quickly as you can. "Damn the effects, Full speed ahead!
The effects can differ from bad to worse. For me it was a visit on the highway with the sirens blaring, the lights flashing and the paramedic feeding me nitroglycerin. That trip was not fun, as a matter of fact, it had been down right scary. But it did get my attention!
Being a child of sixty-five I wasn't ready to pilot a rocking chair just waiting to die. I wanted to reside, be productive and enjoy life. So I decided when I wanted to live - I'm working on Methuselah's record - I needed to make some changes in my entire life.
The very first area I needed to alter was things i place in my mouth. They say you are what you eat. Eat junk and you will have a poor body. Anyway, change for me personally doesn't come easy unless I've good reasons for that change. So here's a list of the reason why I came up with to make healthy food choices.
1)Say Goodby To All The Chemicals
Read the label of this food you're going to serve your family. Look at all of the preservatives that are accustomed to keep it from spoiling and yet look at those ingredients you can't even pronounce let alone know what they are.
If they are putting sawdust inside your food why do they need to change it's name to something you do not understand. You do not suppose they do not want you to know they're putting sawdust inside your food would you?
That's one reason I am all for making appropriate food choices. All of the different preservatives and chemicals that are contained in junk foods couldn't often be healthy for you.
2)I Want To Savor The Flavor
One of the biggest reasons for making healthy food choices for myself is the flavor. I like to taste food! I love the robust flavor of fresh fruits and vegetables. The reason so many vegetable dishes are served with the vegetables swimming in mushroom soup or cheese sauce is that there is no taste towards the canned vegetables. You need something to include flavor.
Try some fresh green beans. They're loaded with flavor, delicious to savor and finest of all they are loaded with healthy for you nutrients.
Take an acorn squash, wash it and stick it in the microwave for two to three minutes. Once the skin is soft, split in 2, scrape out the seeds, give a little butter to every half and you've got a food that is so good for you personally and the best part is it tastes fantastic.
3)I Choose To consume To Live Longer
Reports of obesity and all sorts of the problems it causes are within the news nowadays. From children to adults this problem is getting worse as people use junk food for their lunches and dinners.
Obesity puts a dreadful strain on your heart, which makes it work twice as tough to function properly. Causing hypertension and all sorts of complications that cannot be reversed unless you lose that weight. Obesity can also be proportional to diabetes, also is increasing within America.
Eating healthy makes me feel better and have more energy. By eating healthy, studies show that you can live longer and also have less health problems than somebody that does not.
I must live to savor my grandchildren and one day, their kids. I understand this is possible and so i decide to eat healthy to ensure I've just as much time together as you possibly can. If eating healthy can make you live longer, I select to eat to live longer.
4)I select To Eat To stay in Health
If making healthy food choices helps me to stay in vibrant health i quickly decide to make appropriate food choices. Throughout me I can tell evidence of making bad diet. You can too. Just go people watching at any mall or a busy street corner and you'll be overwhelmed at the results of making bad food choices.
The great thing about making appropriate food choices is that you can start anytime. Like right now! I didn't until that ambulance ride experienced my attention. Now I make healthy food choices every day. Every day it gets easier to make those choices, to express no to unhealthy food and also to live a proper lifestyle.
5)I wish to Enjoy My loved ones
If Making appropriate food choices allows me to reside longer and be in healthy to ensure that I'm able to enjoy my loved ones i quickly choose Healthy food choices. I've eight children, eight grand children so far along with a fantastic wife.
I want to be able to spend some time, time with them all to allow them know precisely how special they are and how I really like them a lot.
I wish to be able to spend considerable time with my wife. When you both work and you are looking after the children you do not get to invest a lot of time together with your spouse. By looking into making healthy food choice now I hope, God Willing, I'll reach spend a lot of quality time with her.
Those are five reason that I select to make healthy food choices. There are more reasons but you obtain the idea. Making healthy food choices choice is a matter of life and death. I select life!
