Florida is definitely a haven that came from the winter season and good reason; the sun, beaches, palm trees and in addition... The Golf. It appears to be do not drive more than a few miles without finding a sports facilities in Florida. The secret is to locate quality golf for affordable prices. The PGA Village in Port St. Lucie provides both.
Located just off I-95 you will discover the PGA Village, a tremendous bunch of golf courses, practice facilities, the PGA museum and restaurants. As soon as you enter the area you literally need not leave until your stay has ended.
Accommodations are plentiful through private home, villa or condo rentals, in addition to hotel and time share reservations. According to how you stay, chances are you ll receive discounted green fees within the level of equally as much as 25% off. It was reality at my last stay at the Sheraton PGA.
Be warned, though, in case you choose to stay at the Sheraton PGA make sure your unit as a lanai (mine did not and it became claustrophobic real quick). Moreover, the stay was enjoyable; you have a nice size pool, BB-Q areas and all though of course there isn t any lounge or dining facilities on premises, there is certainly the Sam Sneed Tavern along the block along at the Hilton Garden Inn.
The atmosphere is warm and classy; the food was reasonably priced and excellent in both variety and quality. There is an incredible amount of Mr. Sneed's memorabilia show cased through restaurant, including his 82 gold medallions presented to your boyfriend upon the two of his PGA Tour victories. It is very impactful to see these medallions in a single place and to read the dates and locations of your tournaments. If you re an aspiring lover of golf, history or merely plain greatness his success really hits home.
Now for the really special aspect of the PGA Village at Port ST. Lucie, the GOLF. You can find three courses, the Wanamaker as well as the Ryder (both Tom Fazio designs) and also the Pete Dye designed Dye course. All operate out of 1 club house and share a common practice range. Uniquely, though, each course maintains its own practice green set up by way of the first tee box to properly provide you with the experience of the greens around the course you are about to play.
Each course offers its own feel; there isn't anything repetitive from course to course except the meticulous physical appearance the courses from tee to green. Depending on whom you check with, you can find varying opinions on which is harder and the one is more fun to use. A gentle diet of most three will improve game, as all three present a complete test of golf. I would recommend, however, you don t commence the very first day on your Dye course; while it is your more visually challenging of a typical three.
The seasons affect the green fees as well as the fees were scheduled to end up up a short after my departure, that's Oct. 3rd. It is best to call ahead and find out the green fees for your time you are planning your golf vacation, as well, I paid $83.00 for three rounds of golf.
